Sidelined due to injury since December 2016, No. 1-ranked flyweight contender Joseph Benavidez will resume his quest for 125-pound gold on June 9 when he faces Sergio Pettis in a UFC 225 bout at United Center in Chicago.

UFC 225 airs live on Pay-Per-View.

A two-time title challenger, Benavidez has fought his way back into the mix for a shot at champion Demetrious Johnson with a six-fight winning streak that has seen him defeat the likes of Tim Elliott, Dustin Ortiz, John Moraga and Henry Cejudo. In June, he will attempt to make it seven in a row against the No. 5-ranked Pettis, who has won four of his last five.
