Yusuff, who has yet to compete since swiftly defeating Don Shainis over a year ago, has managed to retain his position in the Top 15. He currently holds the 11th spot as he prepares for his Saturday comeback fight.

Yusuff entered the Octagon to face the newcomer Shainis only after his much-anticipated fight with fellow ranked featherweight Giga Chikadze was canceled a week before they were supposed to meet. The scheduled bout between Yusuff and Chikadze was set for September 22 of last year. Chikadze had only returned to the Octagon in late August, where he defeated Alex Caceres.
Yusuff was then quickly scheduled to fight Shainis a couple weeks later, swiftly defeating the newcomer from New England in just 30 seconds. But shortly after that victory, he was sidelined and has remained out of action for the past year.
