A packed summer of UFC events has set the stage for an even bigger fall season, and the promotion fired off a couple more salvos on a busy Wednesday evening as it made a bout for the interim UFC lightweight title official.
With current 155-pound champion Conor McGregor facing Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match on Aug. 26, UFC President Dana White has decided to keep the division moving with an interim title fight pitting Tony Ferguson against Kevin Lee. This bout will take place on Oct. 7 in Las Vegas.
A little over a month later in Norfolk, Virginia, two of the sport’s most exciting action heroes will meet in a welterweight bout, as Matt Brown faces Diego Sanchez on Nov. 11. Also scheduled for that card is a strawweight clash between Angela Hill and Nina Ansaroff.
